15 companies that offer remote jobs and 4-day workweeks

Between return-to-work mandates and dwindling buying power, many employees may feel overworked and under-rewarded. Luckily, some companies are still finding ways to prioritize work-life balance and flexibility.  Remote jobs search platform Flexjobs put together a list of 40 companies that not only boast remote opportunities, but offer or plan to offer four-day workweek policies. Given the recent surge of companies requiring employees in the office, this may seem too good to be true — and yet, Flexjobs found an 11% increase in the number of remote job posts in 2023, hinting that remote work isn’t going anywhere. And while the coveted three-day weekend may still be a rare offering, it looks like more companies are recognizing that employees need rest in order to be productive, observes Toni Frana, career expert at Flexjobs.”Working a four-day workweek can allow people a full day each week to complete medical appointments, various errands, volunteer for a cause that is important to them and even have time to have coffee with a friend,” she says. “Having this space in your week to do things outside of work has a positive effect on mental health and personal relationships, and eliminates the stress many feel when trying to fit everything in during a traditional five-day workweek.” Read more: Why chronic work stress doesn’t have to be the normA remote work structure and a four-day workweek policy may be the perfect recipe for work-life balance, allowing employees to have more agency over how they complete their personal and professional tasks each week.
