The tech industry is one of the fastest-growing and most in-demand sectors in the world. With the ever-increasing demand for tech talent, it is more important than ever to start honing tech skills from an early age. Not only will this give children and adolescents a head start on their career, but it will also open up the door to global remote opportunities.
India is home to a large pool of potential tech talent. With over 500,000 software engineers and technologists graduating each year, India is the number one producer of tech talent in the world. In fact, a recent study by NASSCOM and Zinnov estimates that by 2025, there will be over 10 million Indians working in global remote jobs. This represents a significant opportunity for Indian tech talent, as it will allow them to work with some of the biggest companies in the world and earn competitive salaries.
In order to nurture the talent of future generations, educating and nurturing them right from the beginning is critical. Here are some steps we can take to ensure global opportunities to future tech workers:
Start coding early: There are many resources available to help kids learn to code, such as WhiteHat Jr, Vedantu Superkids, and MindChamp. Coding is a fundamental skill in the tech industry, and it is a great way to start developing their problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Get involved in STEM activities: There are many STEM clubs and activities available for kids, such as robotics, engineering, and computer science. These activities are a great way to learn about different aspects of technology and to meet other kids who are interested in STEM. In fact, most schools have already started offering cognitive and coding skills for their students as early as the first standard. By teaching children logical arithmetic problem solving, they can go far beyond understanding simple mathematics.
Attend tech meetups and conferences: This is a good option for older teens. Tech meetups and conferences are a great way to learn about new technologies and to network with other tech professionals. This is a great way to stay up-to-date on the latest trends in the tech industry and to make connections that could lead to future opportunities.
Develop your soft skills: In addition to technical skills, it is also important to develop skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. These skills are essential for success in the global tech industry, and they can be developed through extracurricular activities, internships, and volunteer work.
There are many reasons why future generations would benefit from global remote working opportunities in tech:
First, remote work gives tech talent access to a wider range of opportunities. In the past, employees were limited to jobs in India. However, with the rise in remote work, they can now work for companies all over the world. In this set up, more global companies prefer hiring Indian tech talent for long-term contractual jobs which give an immense opportunity to have access to higher-paying jobs, tax benefits, and more opportunities for career growth, and a wider range of global experiences.
Second, remote work can help save money. When working from home, they don’t have to pay for things like transportation, food, and childcare. This can save them a significant amount of money, which can be used to invest in their education or other personal goals.
Third, remote work can help improve work-life balance. Working from home gives them more flexibility in their schedule. This means that they can work when they are most productive and take breaks when they need them. This can help them reduce stress and improve their overall well-being.
Fourth, remote work can help Indian talent build stronger relationships with their colleagues. Even though they might work from home, they still have the opportunity to interact with their colleagues through video conferencing, instant messaging, and other tools. This can help them build stronger relationships and feel more connected to their team members from different parts of the world. This would prove to be great for cross-cultural learning and teamwork. By taking these steps, we can help to nurture Indian tech talent and create a brighter future for the country.
